Damp dirt is gentle placed over the distributed roots. Three small sticks peg the waterlily down. These will hold the lily in place and discourage large leaping frogs from disturbing the new plant which could end up being dislodged and float free of its pot. A larger stick can be inserted at an angle beneath and below the waterlily so future fertiliser materials can be inserted beneath and below the waterlily if it seems needed, the larger stack can push the fertiliser 'pill' into position. Don't forget to put the plant label in! By placing the label close to the edge of the pot, in future you can locate the label by feel alone, when foliage or silt makes it obscure, knowing labels should be close to the rim of the tub
