Hello, I have a Japanese Red Maple (bloodgood), in its 3rd year. Just starting to come into its own...this year I'm sure it would have really taken off. A few min. ago I accidently tripped over it in the dark...I managed to stumble and rip off about 40% of mature branches...I cannot believe this could of happened...but it did. I am looking for some assistance or direction. Is it possible for me to do anything with these ripped off branches? Is there anyway I can assist these branches to grow into new trees? Is there anything I should do to the bare bark spots where the branches were ripped off. This plant has been my baby for 3 years....almost impossible for me to believe what just happened.
